Standard spacing suggestions
These are the recommended spacing for easy readability, visibility and appearance.
4” tall numbers:
Horizontal alignment spacing – allow 0.5" – 1” between numbers.
Vertical alignment spacing – allow 0.75" – 1.25” between numbers.
5” tall numbers:
Horizontal alignment spacing – allow 0.75 – 1.25” between numbers.
Vertical alignment spacing – allow 1 – 1.5” between numbers.
6” tall numbers:
Horizontal alignment spacing – allow 1" – 1.5” between numbers.
Vertical alignment spacing – allow 1 – 2” between numbers.
8” tall numbers:
Horizontal alignment spacing – allow 1.5" – 2” between numbers.
Vertical alignment spacing – allow 1.5 – 2.5” between numbers.
12” tall numbers:
Horizontal alignment spacing – allow 2“ – 2.5” between numbers.
Vertical alignment spacing – allow 2“ – 3” between numbers.
